WIRED

During the first hit of the Coronavirus pandemic, Alexander McQueen's team brought the creators community together to celebrate the strength of art.

Creators of the Instagram community were challenged to come up with their version of flowers inspired by Alexander McQueen's 'Roses' collection which actually seemed like bouquets of flowers strutting down the runway.

Keeping in mind the lack of availability of products due to the lock-down, I chose to recycle some old copper wires in the house and steal my mom's nail paints.

The idea behind my design was to bring together the dainty femininity and bold structures of the corset seamlessly.

The entire piece designed was 100% recycled to showcase the strength of sustainability as well.

The abstract flowers are molded using various diameters of copper wires. Smaller petals were created by dipping loops of wire into glue and nail paint. Left over beads were used to mimic the look of leaves and anther.
